Dianne Spencer and her husband Bryon flew all the way from their home in Canada to experience their very first trip to SE Asia and took on playing eleven of the regions top golf courses while also enjoying some great excursions away from the courses.
Interestingly they told us that they found the Thai people were friendlier and the feel was more relaxed while they found the courses in Vietnam were nicer especially Ba Na Hills which they said was gorgeous.
Here are their reviews of a few of the courses they played:
Alpine Golf Resort Chiang Mai which was beautiful. 5 Stars. Ba Na Hills Golf Club was absolutely gorgeous! Challenging greens, water, and elevation changes, making it super-fun and breathtakingly scenic. Our caddies were, not only knowledgeable, but the most fun we had on the whole trip. 5 stars.
Summit Green Valley Chiang Mai Country Club was a nice course, but the slowest play that we encountered. Got paired with a nice Thailand couple who made the waiting more enjoyable. 4 stars.
Legend Da Nang Golf Resort, Nicklaus Course was great, but the water was quite excessive for us.
Star: 4. Black Mountain Golf Club was the nicest of our Hua Hin courses! 5 star.
Dianna said, “The courses in Thailand and Vietnam were beautiful, especially the mountain courses.
We do have amazing courses back home, too, however our season is just too short. The courses we played on our vacation were more difficult due to the water and more bunkers than at home.”
“ At home we always walk and use a pushcart, but on our vacation, it was best that we had a cart due to the heat. The caddies were like a luxury we would never have gotten, had we had the option,” added Dianne.
The Verso hotel in Hua Hin was their favorite hotel on the trip. They liked the smaller size of this hotel. It wasn’t a luxury hotel, but it was clean, cute, and the staff made it a 5 for us.
“Keep doing what you do! If we were to do a vacation in Southeast Asia again, we would book through Golfasian https://www.golfasian.com/ in a heartbeat.”
