Thailand’s Newest Golf Course: Banyan Golf Club

Banyan_golf_club_hua_hin_thailandOpened last week, Banyan Golf Club in Hua Hin is the newest Thailand golf course. Adding to the 7 other  Hua Hin golf clubs the course and club at Banyan is first-rate. The Banyan Golf Club Hua Hin just 15 minutes south of town is tucked in between two small mountain ranges.

The superb 7030 yard Banyan course has more in common with a top quality European parkland course, than with something hewn from a Thai pineapple plantation. Within the jungle and pineapple-lined perimeter, it’s often hard to imagine you are golfing in Hua Hin.

The overall presentation is immaculate. An excellent array of (not overly penal) water hazards, terrific bunkering and fabulous greens provide all the characteristics you’d expect from a top quality golf course. Nicely rolling native Zoysia grass fairways are bordered by quite generous amounts of lush, grassy semi-rough; there isn’t really any deep rough to worry about. Beyond the growing pineapple waste areas the golf course is adorned with all manner of trees, palms and flowering bougainvillea.

Each hole has been wonderfully crafted and takes advantage of the natural land formations. Local Golf East Thai designer Pirapon Namatra, who previous projects included Blue Canyon Lakes Course and Santiburi Samui Country Club reated a layout at Banyan of simlar standards. This ensures that every round is full of challenge and interest including regular glimpses of the offshore islands and Gulf of Thailand.

On an operations side being greeted by smiling Thai silk-dress clad hostesses with a refreshing welcome drink and cold towel adds a touch of class founds in only the best resorts. Included individual golf carts, caddies, and practice balls make the check-in formalities a breeze. A modern Thai styled clubhouse with 4 double spa suites for overnighters is perched high on the best vantage point overlooking the course and back towards Hua Hin. The Mulligan’s Pub and terrace makes for a great place to take in a Thai sunset and to relive the best shots of the round. Without doubt, Banyan Golf Club is the newest Thailand golf jewel.

  1. Dear golfers,
I happened to play Banyan Golf Club last week and I must tell fellow golf enthusiasts that are planning a golf trip to Hua Hin this is a MUST.
I played Black Mountain also which was very nice but the Banyan considering it’s just 2-months old is incredible.
It’s taken years and years at other clubs to deliver the expereince of what Banyan has acheived.
What the Banyan do so well is the attention to detials. I loved the pineapple tee stones, the discreet logo on the uniforms, the ice water in the locker, the cold face towels in 9th drink stop. The team their are helpful and caring and I had the feeling all way through the club that I was very welcome unlike most courses.
I am looking forward to going back next year and am sure this place will just get better and better.
I work at a top club in London and I want to bring my staff here to show them how its done to 5-star standards

  2. Banyan Golf Club will be one of the best golf courses in Thailand.
I’m from Scotland and played many great courses but I have never expereinced such great facilities.
The design of the clubhouse is fantastic, the golf course is superbly designed.
I really enjoyed such fairways. I hit my Hybrid from the fairway like a tee shot – fantastic !
The clubhouse has service to match they make me feel very important and like a VIP. Never, have I felt this way at a golf club before. I will definately be back as I enjoyed Hua Hin too – it’s a great town – good golf, food, hotels and few watering holes reasonably priced.
