Wouldn’t it be neat to be the first on your block to attend world’s first and only golf festival?
August will mark the first golf festival that I have ever heard of. That is, not only in Thailand, but anywhere!
You ask what exactly is a golf festival, so did I when I first found out about it, and I even living here in Thailand where it is being held.
I know that you are now dying to know about the festival and you can find out exactly all about the golf festival as described by the Tourism Authority of Thailand. Also do not worry if you can not read Thai, I used the the English version of the announcement for the continuation of this post.
Golf is one of the most popular sports in Thailand. The game arrived in the country a century ago and was quickly taken up by the elite and the fashionable.
There are over 200 high standard golf courses nationwide, many of them championship standards. The world’s top designers have made a significant contribution. Jack Nicklaus, Robert Trent Jones Jr, and many others have perfected modern layouts, using the best grasses and latest techniques.
The Hua Hin/Cha-am Golf Festival will be held throughout the month of August 2006. Springfield Village Golf & Spa, The Imperial Lake View Hotel & Golf Club, Palm Hills Golf Resort and Country Club, Kaeng Krachan Golf and Country Club, Sawang Resort & Golf Club, The Majestic Creek Golf & Resort and Royal Hua Hin Golf Course are major courses participating in this golf festival.
Every day throughout August, select to play a round of golf at any one of 7 magnificent courses in Hua Hin/Cha-am for just THB800 per person/round – fees do not include caddies or golf buggies, and are not available at courses when organised events are taking place on every Sunday.
You are invited to apply to compete in organised tournaments every Sunday for just THB1200 (Fees include caddy, souvenir memorabilia and dinner) with lots of prizes. Players achieving holes-in-one at designated holes receive prizes worth THB100,000 – 1,500,000. Enter prize longest-drive contest, free golf-swing clinics with the renowned golf pro, try out the latest range of golf equipment, browse and buy from a wide range of specially-discounted golf products at all courses are part of this golf festival.
If you can make it to Hua Hin in August, please do let us know and we will be glad to help with any arrangements you may need as well as group you together with other like minded golfers. Now aren’t you convinced that a golf festival beats a county fair anytime?
